Sniffit ("the app") helps you identify, value, and resell second-hand furniture and decor. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

Photos and items you scan

When you scan an item, run a Lot Sweep, ask Sniff a question, or create a makeover, staged photo, mockup, or listing, the photos and details involved are sent securely through our servers to our AI providers, Anthropic (Claude) and Google (Gemini), to produce the result. They are not used to train AI models and are never sold or shared for advertising.

Listings you share to Sniffit

If you share a listing to Sniffit from another app (for example Facebook Marketplace), the share extension sends the listing link, the listing page's content (such as title, price, description, condition, location, and photos), or the screenshots you shared, to our servers so we can identify and price the item. We only process listings you choose to share.

Account data

If you sign in with Apple, we store your Apple account identifier, name, and email (if you choose to share it) to create your account and sync your finds across devices. You can use Sniffit without an account; the app then creates a random guest ID, stored in your device's Keychain, so your credits and AI usage can be tracked. The guest ID isn't linked to your name or email.

Your finds

Scan results, photos, prices, expenses, notes, and Ask Sniff conversations are stored on your device. With an account, they are also backed up to our servers (hosted on Cloudflare and Turso) so you can restore them on another device.

Credits and purchases

Payments are processed by Apple; we never see your payment details. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription and credit-pack status, which receives your Sniffit account or guest ID and your purchase history. We keep a record of your credit balance and the AI actions credits were spent on, to run the credit system and prevent abuse.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, Sniffit sends you results of listings you shared and reminders you set for items you're flipping. To deliver share results, your device's push token is sent with the share request; we don't keep it after the result is delivered. Reminders are scheduled on your device.

Region and currency

We use your device's region and the currency you choose in Settings to show prices and write listings for your local market. Sniffit does not access your device's location.

Usage analytics and crash reports

We collect usage events (e.g. "scan completed", "paywall viewed") and crash diagnostics to understand how the app is used and fix problems. These are stored on our servers and with PostHog, our analytics provider (US), and are linked to your account or guest ID. They don't include your photos, chat messages, or contact details. We don't use advertising identifiers or track you across other apps and websites.

Who we share data with

We share data only with the service providers that run Sniffit: Anthropic and Google (AI processing), Cloudflare and Turso (hosting and storage), RevenueCat (purchases), PostHog (analytics), and Apple (sign-in, payments, and notifications). We don't sell your personal data.

Data retention and deletion

You can delete any find in the app, which removes it from your device and our servers. To delete your account, go to Settings → Delete Account in the app. This permanently removes your account, synced finds, photos, chats, credit records, and usage data from our servers. Finds stored only on your device are removed when you delete them in the app or uninstall Sniffit. You can also email us to request deletion.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK, or California), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, or to object to how it is used. Email us and we'll respond within 30 days.

Children

Sniffit is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal data.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. For significant changes we'll let you know in the app.
