Privacy Policy
Sniffit, by Channel22 · Last updated June 9, 2026
Sniffit ("the app") helps you identify and value second-hand furniture and decor. This policy explains what data the app collects and how it is used.
Photos you scan
When you scan an item, the photo is sent securely to our servers and to our AI providers (Anthropic and Google) to identify the item and estimate its value. Photos are used only to produce your scan result and, if you have an account with cloud sync, to back up your finds. They are not used to train AI models and are never sold or shared for advertising.
Account data
If you sign in with Apple, we store your Apple account identifier, name, and email (if shared) to create your account and sync your finds across devices. You can use the app without an account; your data then stays on your device.
Your finds
Scan results, prices, expenses, and notes are stored on your device. With an account, they are also backed up to our servers (hosted on Cloudflare and Turso in the EU/US) so you can restore them.
Usage analytics
We collect anonymous usage events (e.g. "scan completed", "screen viewed") and crash reports to improve the app. These contain no photos and no personal content.
Subscriptions
Purchases are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status; RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier, never your payment details.
Data retention & deletion
You can delete any find in the app, which removes it from your device and our servers. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at brendan@channel22.dev.
